Tree Day
After washing the cars, I needed to trim some trees. I cut 3 major branches off a wild cherry tree. Then cut down an 8" oak tree. All cuts made using a manual handsaw. After I cleared the driveway ... and didn't knock down my neighbor's clothesline ... I was too pooped to do much else. I did put up a light socket and turned a 50 oz. coffee ate container into a light shade.

Red Maple
I saw this pretty splash of red on my way home from Seminary this morning. A shaft of light was coming down thru the dark threes and this red one just glowed!

Gray Drizzling Days
Here are some fotos I took with my iPod ...
just to give you a feel for the last 3 days ...
Misty gray, with my neighbors pickup truck
A cotton field hoping to make puffy white balls
They harvested the peanuts, dried the plants, and then baled it into 1,000 lb. rolls for horse and cattle feed.
Elder berries with dead pecan branches behind.

A touch of Fall coming on ... the grape leaves are turning yellow.
Another field still waiting on the cotton to mature.
Moisture-leaking clouds in the sky.
Mature cotton ... waiting to dry out ... then be harvested.
A whole field of cotton that will be baled once it dries out.
It will take several days of dry weather to accomplish that.
