Back to hobbies ... and Life

Finally got a decent photo of our black pug. He's a beut! He has to think about things alot before dealing with them. He has to sniff and sniff and sniff on a spot and think about what it all means. While the boston terrier would just take a quick sniff and head out looking for things to eat or things to chase. The collar he wears has lots of spikes on it ... just to keep Sheba from chewing on it or using it to pull him around.

More flowers

My neighbor hiding his old truck behind Crepe Myrtle.

The bees really love the flowers.

Another foto of Mimosa weed.
I put this as desktop wallpaper on my Mac.

Some of you may know, I sent in another job application.
Yesterday.  The deadline was yesterday.
In addition to the regular application, there were questions that you had to answer, but the answer to each question could be no longer than 1200 characters ... each letter, space, and punctuation counted as a character.  So they were looking for effective, short, succinct answers.
I hauled out transcripts and stuff to answer the basic application a week ago Sunday.  Did the cover letter and resume on Monday.  And spent the rest of the week stewing over the questions.  I'm not too certain about my answer to question #2 ... but feel good about my answers to the other 5 questions.
They didn't want references sent in .. you just listed 3 in the application.
I'm waiting to get a phone call for them to talk with me ...
(after they call the Bishop and Stake President)
or the worst they can do ... an email saying, "Thanks anyway."

While Out Walking

While walking the dogs this morning, I found this on the roadway.
It's a .38 caliber bullet that looks like a car ran over it once.
The thing that comes to mind is ...
How did a .38 bullet end up on the road?
It didn't jump out of a gun ...
didn't hop out of a box, and out a car window ...

This is an opportunity to sit back and dream up stories
about how this bullet ended up on the road this morning.

Talking of stories ...
I woke up this morning from a dream in which I was talking German ... it had something to do with a small smoked fish  that my friend had.  He wanted to buy more of them ... and there the trouble began.  It seems the people in the market we went into thought the fish was being used to transport or sell small quantities of drugs.  We didn't realize that at first.  But when we laid the fish down, they hit it with the edge of their hand.  Took it away and said we could have it back in a couple of hours ... after it had been tested.  Ultimately it ended with my friend protesting that he just wanted to buy some more small smoked fish!  Nothing nefarious.  He justed liked the taste of them.

And with that, I'm off to eat my breakfast ...
oatmeal, raisins, and apples - sweetened with honey.
Have a great day!
Kan I ha' det godt!

Cake Auction

Last Friday evening we attended a cake auction ... the objective was to fund Scout camp & Young Womens camp for the youth.  There were a lot of interesting cakes.  The one that sold for the most looked like a 3-dimensional Apache Longbow helicopter. (They used stiffened licorice sticks for the rotor blades.)  HOWEVER, I did not take a picture of it.

This is the one that my wife made the winning bid on.
Old McDonald's Farm.
The fencing is pretzels, the cupcakes and ground cake were chocolate.
The barn is red licorice, cereal shingles, and yellow cake.
I have no idea what the pond water was made of.
No, we did NOT eat the whole thing!
A little boy helped with the cupcakes ...
and a bunch of it finally went into the trash yesterday.
