Back to hobbies ... and Life

Finally got a decent photo of our black pug. He's a beut! He has to think about things alot before dealing with them. He has to sniff and sniff and sniff on a spot and think about what it all means. While the boston terrier would just take a quick sniff and head out looking for things to eat or things to chase. The collar he wears has lots of spikes on it ... just to keep Sheba from chewing on it or using it to pull him around.

Dog-Walkin Happy

It's a balmy 39 degrees F ... and I am just dog-walkin happy tonight.
Gma and the too delicate princess stayed inside.

The Sound of One Ball Bouncing ...

It's morning ... no real light coming through the curtains ...
When we hear the sound of one ball bouncing.
bounce ... bounce ... bounce ...
scratch .. scratch ... scurry ... scurry ...

These two are dropping the little blue ball off the couch and then chasing it across the living room ... I think it was the one with the white hands that started it ... She's an instigator.

What that means is time to get up!

Noooooo ...
Gotta walk the dogs.
Pleeeeeaaase ... just a little more sleep.
Gotta be done now ... so they "go" outside.

Ugh.  Grumble - mmph - humpf ...
I'm getting up.

Sunny Day with a Facemask

It's one of those days where it is clear and bright
but a bit on the chilly side.
Wore a face mask to go walk the dog

This was from an art show.

And the elephant ear plants are Resting In Peace ...
for the time being.

Digging to China

This is a tag-team event --
Digging their way to China.
Out in the front yard.

Since we share a very big front yard with our neighbors ...
You never know what you are going to see out there.
I just had to take a picture of this pretty car.

Lovely Afternoon

After taking the grandsons out in the pasture for some target practice ... we used full unopened sodas as targets (they are most satisfying to hit) ... had lunch ... walked the dogs and did bicycle rides. Then it was time for me to go out and visit some people. I saw this lovely sight and stopped to take a few fotos. Scared a large turtle that was climbing up the bank to cross the road (he beat a hasty retreat). Later I took my wife out for our Friday date-night (ribeye steak at Georgia B's).

Steven's Baptism

Today she wore boots with spiky 4" heels to church.
By time to go home, her feet were screaming.
But the boots really looked nice with her outfit.

Steven, light-blue shirt in middle, was baptized today.
2 Gma's, 1 Gpa, and assorted family gathered for this foto.

3 a.m. Odor-de-Poop

This is the culprit !
She-ba

At 3 a.m. the odor of dog poop come wafting through the night air inside our house. She has not yet learned that you either hold-it ... or go outside. Which requires Dad or Mom to get up in the middle of the night ... remove the offending excrement ... hopefully before she starts licking it ... and spray a bit of air freshener ... before going back to bed ... hoping for more sleep ... before the 6:30 a.m. outdoor walk.

sigh.

Take half a blood-pressure pill ...
and think good thoughts ...

The wind is roaring through the trees as dim gray clouds scud through the sky.
Yet it is so warm that I have to take off the flannel shirt/jack and just wear my t-shirt as we walk our mile or two.

Dizzy! Wow, what happened?!

This is an interesting signature.

Anyway, I must have made a bad choice in food yesterday morning. Was it the frosted cake donut, followed by Pringles, washed down with a diet cherry soda? Or something else? We went to the store to go grocery shopping and I felt like everything was shaky inside. My vision was like a shutter kept flashing across and I was seeing a slideshow of images. No head pains, so it wasn't a migraine. I went and sat down. An hour or two later and I was getting back to normal. Woh. Maybe I should be a little more careful about what I'm eating.

Florida Snowing!!

Take a look at this!!!
That gray stuff is SNOW in FLORIDA.

The pink stuff is ICE.
The Orange trees in central Florida are freezing.
Orange juice is going to be much more expensive this year.
And the price of anything else grown in Florida will skyrocket.

Oh my goodness ... Disney World has ice and freezing rain.
Retirement-ville and vacation-land are looking and feeling like Idaho.
Wonder what all those people did with their winter coats?
I dug mine out of the back of the closet ...
I'm toasty warm. :-)

Pondering

I walk down the street in the morning with the dog.

A guy with a very light gray beard, waving at cars that pass.  Wondering what they think of that?  I remember that in ways it wasn't so long ago that my father was this age.  Oh my gosh.  Another year has already past for this gypsy.  I can't believe that we've been here for nearly 3 years.  Everything is about clear as mud -- the future -- the present -- the past.  The grandsons and I rode our bicycles thru the cemetary today.  One of the plots had solar cells powering Christmas trees, snow flakes, and lighted wreaths.  We talked about the new graves.  And about some of those that we knew.  One or two of those had names and birthdates, but no death dates yet.  Due to a change in state law that went into effect yesterday ... my current job just disappeared.  Oh drat.  Now what?

Corn/Oatmeal Breakfast

My wife started making oatmeal for breakfast ...
the water was boiling, she poured in oatmeal ...
but there wasn't enough.
So, she poured in cornmeal and added golden raisins.

Beautiful foto ...
which I neglected to take before I wolfed it all down.
At least you can see the Ruibose & Peppermint tea
Mmmmm.

I think I forgot to mention that I had a hot Stadium Brat sausage to eat along with the corn/oatmeal. Such a short senior memory sometimes. Just the one or two things that were most important. Besides, I'm currently sipping the tea, so it is not so easy to forget ...

Unseasonably Warm

Notice how unseasonably warm it is across the nation ...
At least it is very warm in Idaho, Washington, and New York. What happened to their beloved - F temps? So unusual for this time of year.

Look at the jetstream
encapsulating that cold weather and taking it south
to New Orleans and places.
While SoCal stays blissfully warm.

Coldest Orange Bowl on record in Miami last evening
it was 49 degrees at kick-off.

What Global Warming???

I really wonder about this global warming stuff ...
Far from being the hottest winter ever ... it seems like it's even colder than last year and the year before when I was freezing up in Wisconsin (waiting on a load).

Just take a look at the temperatures across the nation today ...

Where would you like to live at this time of this year??

Happy New Year! ... cleanup

Happy New Year to you all !!!

Now we have to go outside and do the cleanup after last nights party.

The remnants from last night ... bottle rockets & Dr Pepper.

The launching platform where the fireworks mortar tubes sat to launch the spectacular display into the sky. Paul & Ben just couldn't resist ... being the big kids that they are ...

See the remains of the massive bonfire?
See the smoke rising ...
It rained during the night ... and it is still smoking.
No jackets required ... it was toasty warm.
And a great place to cook marshmallows and hotdogs ...
on the pitchfork tines.

The regular little wire things to roast marshmallows on were too short ... to get close enough to the fire ... due to the massive heat it was putting out.

The wife is eating a banana coated in peanut butter for breakfast ... I think I'll stick with the tatter-tots.

Dog Porn

How in the world can he sleep like this???

Try laying on your back, feet up in the air, and an arm hanging over your body in the air ... and sleep.

Are you sleeping yet?
