Back to hobbies ... and Life

Finally got a decent photo of our black pug. He's a beut! He has to think about things alot before dealing with them. He has to sniff and sniff and sniff on a spot and think about what it all means. While the boston terrier would just take a quick sniff and head out looking for things to eat or things to chase. The collar he wears has lots of spikes on it ... just to keep Sheba from chewing on it or using it to pull him around.

Sunday Afternoon

Took my camera phone with me when I went to walk the dogs after church today.  We were late getting home due to the ward conference and the potluck luncheon following.  Ned was there mostly sitting and smiling at everyone.  Bruce introduced himself and his wife and the blond next to her introduced herself as his second wife.  The she said, "Sorry.  I'm actually Sister Hall."  :-)

Anyway, here's the fotos:

In Color
Just a week after all the berries dropped ...
it is covered in blossoms.
these were the "berries"

and there are lots of these daffy flowers.

Tomorrow it is back to paperwork.

Paperwork

Paperwork is not high on my list of fun things to do ... So, I procrastinate doing it.  I go up to the shop and watch TV ... work on bicycles ... read a book ... take a ride ... take a walk ... but always in the background it is nagging at me.  I spent 4 hours yesterday doing paperwork (Progess Notes).  And I've got at least another 4 hours worth to do today (Treatment Plan Updates).  UGH!  Of course, I don't get paid for paperwork.  And it's tedious ... requiring thought.  It's raining outside, so I'm not doing it this morning ... how's that for logic.  Besides, I have to go see some clients about 35 miles away from here (this morning) ... I think I'll take a bicycle ride this afternoon before I get back to the paperwork ... ya think?  Later

Another Snow Storm?!

For all of you suffering through another snow storm
I'll just show you a photo that I took on the way to work this morning.
It's one of those tulip trees (Japanese Magnolia)

Enjoy another lovely day!

Layers of Misty Morn

I went out to walk the dogs this morning and found that the mist wasn't clear down to ground level ... at least not at our house.  But it was at ground level at the top of the hill.  So there were layers of misty and clear.  It made for some fun early morning views.  I just had to take some fotos.  The last two fotos I stood in the same spot ... the first one I focused on the brightest part of the sky in order to darken the foto ... the second one I focused a little lower down in a slight darker area, but not so dark of an area that it would turn the foto totally bright and clear as day.

See the mist in the trees and the moisture on the old barn.

These two are different photos ...
just depends upon which area you set the auto-focus.

Gotta go on a 10 mile bicycle ride with a grandson to help him with his Cycling Merit Badge for Boy Scouts.  And do another one next week.  I asked Murray if he wanted to ride along ... and his response was "Bite me!"  I guess that not everyone enjoys a nice little bicycle ride.  :)

Robins & Dandelions

There are not quite as many Robins ...
they must be moving slowly north.

The Dandelions are blooming and propagating.
Wearing T-shirts, shorts and sandals.
The doors and windows are propped open.
It must be Spring.

The Stadium Chair

My wife's back was hurting her ... sitting on the coffee table and indexing for hours on her computer.  So, I bought her a stadium chair ... it's kind of Crimson Tide colored (it was that or black).  She says that the back support really makes a difference.
She started indexing a month ago and has done over 9,000 in one month ... versus my 500.
Beautiful warm day.  Put on my shorts and took a little 7.2 mile bicycle ride.  Trying to build up my breathing and leg muscles to help a grandson work on his Cycling Merit Badge.

Bright & Sunny

That's what the countryside looks like ...
Starting to see green showing up in the fallow fields.
It's T-shirt weather ... in the 50's.

Flowers for the Day

Besides doing the basic work ... seeing clients ...
Took the wife grocery shopping.
Then off to the cemetery to put flowers on her parents' grave

I know, they look kinda "Fall-ish"
We've had them for awhile ...
Just hadn't gotten to the cemetery.

Junk is diminishing around the trailer.
Got most of the siding cleaned up and about ready to go.
And started raking up the flotsam and jetsam left from deconstruction.

Oh Dreary Rain

This was one of those days best spent indoors.
Even though it was mostly spent on doing paperwork.
Ugh!  to both of them ...

Have to wade through water just to get off the steps.

That's the drive -- just water rolling downhill.
The outdoor table blown over, etc.

Daily Tasks

After walking the dogs ... needed to take the wife shopping.  We started at a swap meet.  Then a stop at Burger King for brunch.  Then to the mall ... several stores later we had a present and a card for Karen's birthday.  Eventually back home.  A hike out into the cow pasture to splash up some water.  A little TV time.
Wet leaves, dead tomatoes, and the rosemary plant.

Then a call from a client's mother.  That blew several hours.  And the wife called asking me to pick up some apples and bananas on the way home.

missed the art association show opening.

Water Vapor

It rained like crazy yesterday ... along with a very cold wind that blew it eastward.  Finally the last of the storm chugged out of our area around 9 p.m.  I didn't rush outside right then with the dogs, because there were big standing puddles of water, and water streaming.  After an hour of draining off, I then took them for a walk.  In the beam of my flashlight, I could still see more water vapor.  It wasn't falling down like rain, nor just there light mist or fog, but seemed to be floating around on the breeze.  Snow?  But nothing big enough to really see.  It wasn't cold enough to survive (so it had to be coming from high up where it was way colder).  And it didn't last long ... not even long enough for fantasy and delight to set in.  But it was there.

Cleaning up

In between rain days, yesterday morning I unrolled the aluminum trailer top and removed several pounds of green putty.  Then I folded it up into a rectangle that I could easily carry.  Did the same with the bottom metal pan after I cleared off the last of the wooden flooring parts.  Now I just have to remove staples from the siding pieces and I can take them all to sell for scrap.
Just waiting for a warm dry day to sand and spray paint (Rustoleum) the trailer frame.  Then a little raking to clear up any scrap pieces laying around.  Level the trailer frame and I'll be ready to get started on the rebuild ... shouldn't take more than another year or so.  (maybe less - depends on time, effort, and money)

And as a thought for the day ...
