Back to hobbies ... and Life

Finally got a decent photo of our black pug. He's a beut! He has to think about things alot before dealing with them. He has to sniff and sniff and sniff on a spot and think about what it all means. While the boston terrier would just take a quick sniff and head out looking for things to eat or things to chase. The collar he wears has lots of spikes on it ... just to keep Sheba from chewing on it or using it to pull him around.

Random Pictures at the Park

The formal group foto was interrupted when a puppy
(yes, the same pug-faced black one off to the side)
stole the photography assistant's bird puppet.
Here's the joyous crowd reaction.

There was an "official" photographer taking a group foto.
I just took a snap of some of the people in the middle.

Puppy focus

The puppy was an absolute magnet for little kids at the park today.

My wife's favorite foto ...
the miniature bulldog stance.

"Are you taking a picture of me?"

"Hi! What game are we going to play now?"

Sheetrock Fotos

Between 5 and 10 lbs. of nails were pulled out of boards

This was our champion nail puller!

Ian using "T's" and a ladder to put sheetrock up on the ceiling.

See how effectively the "T's" hold it up while he works on the loose end.
My job was just to cut it into shape for him.

No Fotos -- No Internet

The library wouldn't authorize me to even view my blogsite ... So I am borrowing a neighbor's computer to log-on.

I really helped Ian ... I would measure the space, flop the sheetrock down on the floor, cut it to size ... and leave it to Ian to pick it up and screw it into place.

I did do one thing to assist him ... using two long 2x4's and two short ones, I made some "T's" that would hold the sheetrock in place against the ceiling until Ian could get it attached with screws.  He'd place one "T" against the wall, lean one end of the sheetrock on top it, lean the other end on top of a ladder, and push the other "T" into place in the middle ... then start screwing the loose end (the one on top the ladder) and gradually remove the "T's" as he put in screws to support the area the "T's" were holding.

2 weeks now without internet access at home.  When we eventually get back on, I'll post a foto of Ian using the "T's".

Having survived a week in the outdoors heat ... guzzling liquids ... I am glad to be home and reading a book.  :-)

Sheet-Rocking

Okay ... I pulled out like 5 lbs. of nails.

All the electrical wiring has been re-done.

And now we are putting up sheetrock .. gypsum board .. those heavy chalk things with paper covering. The real challenge is going to be holding them up in the air and screwing them to the ceiling. Oh my gosh!

We've been guzzling Powerade ... & chilled water ... and our clothes are sopping wet soaked with sweat by the end of the day. Dinner at 8 p.m. (because there isn't anymore light to keep working) was a salmon bowl with rice & veggies ... and then fall into bed. Just too exhausted to stay up and watch TV. Oh yes, the wives INSISTED on us taking showers before going to bed.

All I ate was Twix for breakfast this morning ...
breakfast of champions!
