It was the usual visit to the V.A. today. You start with waiting ... and waiting ... lots of old magazines ... and waiting. Then step on the scale ... 237.5 lbs. (with my clothes on ... but subtracting shirt and jeans isn't going to remove much of that weight) ... Temperature ... normal ... blood pressure ... 141 over 94 ... hmmm. Then it was back to the waiting game. At this point some people with a cart brought us eclairs ... and your choice of apple juice, milk, or coffee. Subtle sabotage ... or is it drumming up work for the doctors? Then a visit to the doctor to answer questions, questions, questions, and more questions. All very important. Such as when did this pain first start? Has it ever occurred again? Why haven't you been to a doctor for treatment for it since then? (because in the military, if you went back again, you would lose $600 a month in pay ... and possibly lose your job. Outside the military, I generally have never had medical insurance ... so I only went to the doctor if it was spurting blood ... or something nearly torn off (like a foot)). Let's see, there was the head & neck injury, the lower back & hip pain (which things like "smash your body in the ground school" using a glorified umbrella to slow you down after you step out of a perfectly good airplane ... didn't help). Does this negatively impact your work or stop you from working? Why is it I feel impelled to put a good spin on things? ... when I work 2 weeks and then have to take a week off to recover ... before going back to work. It was another "stand in church" day, last Sunday. It's in their hands now to decide if what happened in the military is having a negative impact on my health now. The hot new things is TBI. Took a bunch of x-rays of head, neck, lower back, and hips. Only 5 hours from start to finish.
Back to hobbies ... and Life
Finally got a decent photo of our black pug. He's a beut! He has to think about things alot before dealing with them. He has to sniff and sniff and sniff on a spot and think about what it all means. While the boston terrier would just take a quick sniff and head out looking for things to eat or things to chase. The collar he wears has lots of spikes on it ... just to keep Sheba from chewing on it or using it to pull him around.
