Back to hobbies ... and Life

Finally got a decent photo of our black pug. He's a beut! He has to think about things alot before dealing with them. He has to sniff and sniff and sniff on a spot and think about what it all means. While the boston terrier would just take a quick sniff and head out looking for things to eat or things to chase. The collar he wears has lots of spikes on it ... just to keep Sheba from chewing on it or using it to pull him around.

French Onion Soup

First take a LARGE onion and slice it across so you get all those rings and things ... then separate them into individual rings. Here they are being sautéed in butter (until brown = best flavor) and the drippings left from frying a couple of steaks.

Here, 4 cups of water have been added ... along with 3 beef bullion cubes (or 3 chicken & herb) ... and cooked to taste.

The onion soup from the frying pan has been placed in 2 large bowls. 2 Slices of French bread have been toasted and placed on top of each bowl.

Shredded mozzarella (or cojack) & cheddar cheese are sprinkled on top. At this point you can put it in the oven and heat it until the cheese melts and it's toasty on top (provided your bowls don't melt) ... We simply put each bowl into the microwave for a minute. Then sat back with a soup spoon and enjoyed!!
